 presents...  Patrice Larue
The master of hyperrealism

Patrice Patrice was born a cheerful chappie in 1950. He joined the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris, from which he graduated in 1975. He then embarked on a career as an illustrator, created the Bahamas group, with whom he orchestrated some of the largest advertising campaigns in France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and the United States. For over 40 years, he was also the author of notable album covers, including artwork for Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton, film posters for Sylvester Stallone and Francis Ford Coppola, amongst others, as well as magazine covers. Drawing from this long and fruitful experience, he has acquired the sort of technical virtuosity that allows him to engage with all subjects and techniques, moving quite happily from watercolor to oil or acrylic. In 2000, he sold his company and has been painting ever since.

The meeting between artist and gallery owner took place during an exhibition of Patrice's works in Auvers-sur-Oise, about fifteen years ago, and a collaboration was established to put together regular exhibitions on his behalf. The next logical step was for him to accept the status of permanent artist at La Nouvelle Galerie. We are happy to count him as such today.

Although a major interest of Patrice is the world of the automobile in general, at this moment in time, he has fallen in love with the nape of the neck of the girls he paints hair by hair for a hyperrealistic and almost photographic result. In a word, stunning!
